Spring Break at the Library of Congress

Alternative Spring Break Program
Library of Congress
Application Deadline:  October 21, 2013

The University of Kentucky School of Library and Information Science is currently soliciting applications for our 2014 Alternative Spring Break program at the Library of Congress. (Note that there will be a later call for programs at other institutions.)

This is an excellent opportunity for experience, leadership development and networking. Each student selected will be paired with a professional librarian who will serve as a mentor.

For each student selected, UK SLIS will make $1000 available to help with the cost of transportation and lodging (both will be the responsibility of the student). Possible housing accommodations might be found through Hotel Harrington – http://www.hotel-harrington.com/index.htm – or DC Lofty – http://www.dclofty.com/index.html.  Spring break 2013 for UK runs March 17-March 22.

Attached to this email is a complete list of projects available to selected students at Library of Congress.
