Jonathan Tennent (Lexington, KY)
Candidate statement: I an outgoing person who is comfortable in leadership roles and likes to be involved in campus life. I participated in many student organizations throughout my undergraduate career and assumed leadership roles in: WSAJ (my college’s FM radio station), The Echo (literary journal), and Orientation Board (a group of ~90 upper classmen who plan events for the incoming freshman class and lead small groups throughout the year). In addition, I am extremely detail oriented and care deeply about honoring commitments. My field-related areas of interest are: technology, preservation of archives through digitization, and the ideology behind making information freely available to everyone.

Jenny Harris (Lexington, KY)
Candidate statement: I served as President of the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance for the 2007-2008 academic year as an undergraduate at Austin Peay State University. I served as Secretary of the Marketing and Promotion Committee at the Library & Instructional Technology Center and was on the search committee for the Director of User Services while employed at Georgia College from 2008-2010. I am currently a member of LISSO and will be joining ALA and SLA in the near future, although I currently hold no leadership positions. I hope I can play a part in keeping this organization active.

Ashley DeWitt (Lexington, KY)
Candidate statement: I do have experience as an elected officer in a student organization. During my undergraduate studies, I was elected as Alumni Secretary for the Kappa Mu Chapter (University of Georgia) of Kappa Kappa Psi (National Honorary Band Service Fraternity) in May 2006. In May 2007, I was reelected and continued to serve until May 2008. In this capacity, I was responsible for maintaining the alumni listserv; engaging in e-mail communication with the 80 alumni members of our chapter; planning a variety of social activities; relaying alumni contact information to the chapter secretary, webmaster, and national headquarters; and representing the alumni during weekly chapter meetings. I hope to have to opportunity to serve my colleagues. Thank you for your consideration.

I have a lot of experience with social media. I have spent the last six months as the Publicity Person at a local bookstore in Louisville, updating their facebook and twitter accounts, website, blog, and email. My main job there is spreading the word about all their deals and events. I would love to get more involved in SLIS.
